Container Transport
We bring the container to you
Since 2001, Integrated Container Logistics (ICL) has specialized in the pick up and delivery of shipping and storage containers.
We know, from experience that not all sites are shipping container friendly.
There are some points to consider prior to taking delivery of a shipping storage container.
Weight
Shipping containers are steel and therefore are heavy. The weights can vary but generally are
10FT or 3m storage container 1200kgs
20FT or 6m storage container 2200kgs
40FT or 12m storage container 4000kgs
Shipping containers may damage bricks or brick paving, reticulation or even kerbs when placed in the wrong environment. It will always be your decision on where the container is placed and ICL will accept no responsibility for damage to property. If you are unsure, we are happy to provide an ICL representative to come to site to help with your assessment.
Size
The containers come in three main lengths of 3m, 6m or 12m. All other dimensions are the same with a width of 2.4m and height 2.4m. Please consider your neighbours if you are taking delivery of a storage container and the safety of others at all times.
Accessibility
Storage and shipping containers are delivered by 8T trucks and above. The site needs to be accessible for large trucks, not just the site itself but the route on the way to your premises. Trees, low overhead power lines and roundabouts are just some of the things to consider. If you are unsure, we are happy to provide an ICL representative to come to site to help with your assessment.
Council
Its up to you to seek approval from your local council. All councils have their own specific rules and regulations and we recommend you speak to them prior to taking delivery. ICL will take no responsibility for any infringements that may occur for delivery of storage containers.
There are three main modes of delivery depending on your site requirements
Side – loader or Swing lifter
These trucks take the container and take it off the trailer and place your storage container on the ground. The truck will always lift the container off the right hand side or drivers side of the truck every time. You need to take this under consideration when you make your booking as we will want to know which way you want the doors to face on the truck prior to delivery. These deliveries are ideal for large or commercial sites
Tilt Tray
These trucks slide the container off the back of the trailer. Tilt trays are used for sites that are not accessible by side-loaders and are generally ideal for residential or commercial deliveries where space is an issue.
Hiab
A Hiab is a truck mounted crane which is normally used to deliver where there is limited space in front or behind the truck where the container is to be located. It is also the best way to position a container at an angle to the delivery truck or up on a platform/raised area, over colorbond /chain wire fences etc. The truck can off load the container to either side or the rear of the truck.
